Own container terminal and solar power in Eastern Switzerland

The logistics center in Staad in the canton of St. Gallen serves as a starting point and central distribution platform for various transport goods in Eastern Switzerland. Long-standing partnerships, strong roots in the local economy and a strong team of around 60 employees make our branch on Lake Constance an important Galliker base.

At the company's own terminal, we use the gantry crane to load containers and swap bodies directly from rail wagons onto trucks. Since the facility was commissioned, the number of rail containers used for internal transport has been steadily increasing - with the connection to the rail network, we are not only able to transport goods efficiently around the clock, but are also working in line with our "Green Logistics by Galliker" strategy.

The main focus of our Galliker site in Staad is on food, frigo and healthcare logistics services. Closed cold chains in various temperature ranges and certified processes (GDP/GMP) guarantee our customers the highest quality in transportation and logistics. In order to pass on our knowledge and experience, we also train logisticians and road transport specialists at the Staad site.

The first of what are now 11 Galliker solar systems was installed in Staad in 2012. The Staad photovoltaic system supplies electricity for around 150 single-family homes (530,000 kWh) every year and is part of our sustainable ecological strategy.

The rail connection at our Staad site ensures optimum last-mile delivery to customers in a combination of road and rail.
